The 💾Standard Hours Import Template is the simplest way to import employee timecard data into TradeSeal. This format works well whether you're loading a few lines from Excel or automating data via API.
The formatting, field names and order are able to be adjusted based off of what your team is needing. Please reach out to Support or Implementation at TradeSeal for more information regarding your needs.
Required Fields

| Pay Component | Typically Reg, OT, or DT (Regular, Overtime, Double Time) |
| Hours | Number of hours worked for that line |
| Date | The work date for the time entry |

Use as a flat amount that an employee needs to be paid. Used for PTO payouts, bonus's, etc. |
| Client ID | Identifies your organization (usually set to a fixed value) |
| Job No | Job number for this timecard line |
And many more! You don't have to use all of these fields, but they're there for your needs.
Tips
- Use one row per pay component per day (e.g., a separate row for Reg and OT on the same date)
- Leave Rate Override blank unless you’re manually setting a specific rate
- Use Cost Codes to group hours for cost allocation or reporting
When to Use
This template is ideal if:
- You track hours outside of a payroll system
- You need to quickly load hours without extra setup
- You want a flexible format for testing and training
