Use the đź’ľStandard Employee Import Template to import basic employee records into HCM TradeSeal. This file powers your initial setup for payroll processing, reporting, and wage compliance.

đź§ľ Required Fields
Each row should represent a single employee. The following columns are required:
- Date – Effective date for the employee record
- ID – Employee’s primary unique identifier (often from your payroll system)
- First Name and Last Name
- Position – Example: “Laborer” or “Foreman”
- Base Rate – Hourly or salary pay rate

Pay Type – Choose “Hourly” or “Salary”
🆗 Optional Fields
These are not required, but can help complete the employee profile:
- Alternate ID – Secondary identifier for internal use
- Union – If employee is subject to union rules
- MI, Suffix, or SSN – Use as needed for record tracking
- Department, Gender, Ethnicity, Date of Birth, Status

⬆️ How to Import the File
- Navigate to the Source Upload screen
- Select Employee Import as your file type
- Upload your Excel or CSV file
- The system will validate your file and highlight any issues

- Use the exact column headers shown in the template
- Do not leave required fields blank
- If you’re unsure about Union or Position names, ask your Implementation Specialist
- Each employee should have one row
