To complete Certified Payroll reports, TradeSeal needs detailed check stub data from your payroll system. This is usually provided by uploading a payroll journal file after each payroll run.
Why It Matters
Check stub data is essential for:
- Mapping gross pay, deductions, and net pay to the WH-347 form
- Breaking out specific deductions into CP-compliant “buckets” like:
- Federal and state taxes
- Union dues
- Fringe benefit contributions
- Other withholdings
Without this data, your CP report won’t reflect the true wages paid and deductions taken — which can lead to compliance issues.
✅ What You Need to Upload
After each payroll is processed in your payroll system:
- Download the payroll journal or check register report (your TradeSeal implementation specialist can help identify the correct file format).
- Upload the file into TradeSeal.
- If you would like to use TradeSeal's Generic Payroll Journal, you can access it here.
🎯 Pro Tip
If you have a recurring payroll provider, we can automate or template the mappings so future uploads require less work.
